Blue River is by Pandemonium River and out of HAAP Blue Lace, a daughter of our mare Fantasia Vu. Blue River has incredible Sabino markings and a Blue Eye! We now have a full sister of Blue, Windsong Frosted Dawn, who looks a lot like a chestnut version of her sister. :-).

Blue has been through a lot in her short life. She was born September 17, 2001 in WY and in November was attacked by wild dogs. Her jaw abcessed and she underwent surgery to clean the infection out. She was then trasported to CO when we bought her and we noticed that her jaw still looked infected. She underwent a second surgery here in CO and extensive treatment before the infection cleared up. Not long after all this, in the spring of 2002, poor Blue was attacked by a bear!!! This bear went over two 5' fences to get into the pen with the yearlings and attacked them both. Blue had claw punctures onm the left sie of her neck that didn't look too bad at first. Unfortunately, infection set in and Blue lost a lot of the skin on the side of her neck. The infection worked all the way through the muscle of her neck and broke through the skin on the other side. Blue spent 6 weeks in the hospital before the infection was cleared up enough to come home. She still had to have her neck wrapped for several weeks at home while the skin was growing back. The skin is now grown back with just a small amount of muscle scarring. Blue has gone to live with her new owner Kelly Damaj, co-owner of the incredible Khartoon Khlassic.
